2007.9.14 - 1.1.5 is released. Yahoo! changed the way captcha url is being sent to the client. This release adapts to that. Other minor change is to make /openurl command to open the last url in the url list. This should further make opening captcha url easier. See the
ChangeLog for list of changes.
2007.8.30 - 1.1.4 is released. Yahoo! has just recently implemented a captcha system to thwart bots and that creates some problems for console chat client like Zinc. When you launch Zinc now, it will show a long url that you have open a brower to solve those deranged crooked letters. 1.1.4 eases bit of the pain by putting that long captcha url into it's internal url list. If your browser has been set up correctly, you can launch that captcha url by using /openurl 1 command. You may not know about this Zinc feature but Zinc parses urls in comments and puts them in a list for you. You can see this list by /url command. You can also save a particular url from the list by issuing /saveurl # command and the url will be appended to ~/.zinc/url file.
Currently 1.2pre1 is broken due to the recent Yahoo! chat server changes. 1.2pre2 will correct this problem very soon.

2006.5.13 - Yahoo! chat servers went down around 10am EST this morning and it's been down for about eight hours as of this writing. It's not certain whether this is just some unexpected server troubles or protocol change yet. I'll keep you updated on what's happening as more information comes in. UPDATE (2006.5.13 11:33pm): It appears all is well now. Yahoo! chat servers are back online.
2006.4.28 - It appears Yahoo! has shut down all YCHT servers and therefore that protocol will no longer work in Zinc. Also YMSG servers seems to be having some issues seemingly since this YCHT phase out.
